Writing, Running, and a Black eye. Oh my!
You may have noticed I’ve been absent again in the past few weeks. Something really scary and life-changing happened to me recently.
I’ve been running again in recent months and have been training for a half marathon on July 4th. This was to be my “comeback” race and I was really excited to run it.
A couple of weeks ago, while on a training run, I had to cross over a street to continue my run on the opposite side. When I was about halfway into the crosswalk, I was hit by a car.
God is good. Amazingly, I have no broken bones. The impact tore off the driver’s passenger side mirror and I broke the car’s windshield with the left side of my face. My left arm was pretty torn up and the left side of my face was swollen and bruised, leaving me with a big black eye and a couple of stitches on the left side of my face. I was told the driver was going 30mph when she hit me.
I’ve been taking it easy and focusing on recovery. Slowing down isn’t easy for me. But rest and self-care have become very important. I hadn’t anticipated the emotional after-effects of the accident and I’ve been gently working through those as well.
I got my stitches out a couple of days ago and it’s beginning to feel like I’m getting back to my old self.
There are so many exciting things on the horizon. One of these is my book. It is currently in the last stage of design before it goes to publication.
My book is called TRUE Health. It is a faith-based book about health that I wrote for women.
In my book, I explore the basics of health, how to realize your full potential, considerations for health that are specific to women, and how our relationship with the Holy Spirit can motivate and guide us into better health.
I have been feeling called to write for over 10 years. And I finally sat down to write last year. I truly feel God inspired the words I put in the pages and I prayed over the writing every day before I typed out words on the page. I have been praying that the book will get into the hands of the women who need to hear this message.
I’ll be posting more about the book and when it will be available. You’ll notice a menu item that says “book” on my website.
I want to thank you personally for supporting me as a health and life coach and feel blessed that you are subscribed to my posts.
Here’s to your true health,
